Displaced is a concept focused on displacing various objects in foreign environments. This concept particularly focused on displacing items that could bare so relation to one another but not necessarily found in the same environment as each other. The brief was very open to interpretation, so I decided to primarily focus on displacing objects to cause and hoax a reaction from viewers of the project. Although meant to serve as an installation , (this was changed due to COVID-19 during the course of this project) I eventually decided to use photography as a replacing medium to best represent my concept.
Whilst working from home, the concept evolved more, although I didn't want to stray far from my original concept, I stuck with displacing objects that could be easily found around the house. I favoured more aesthetic approaches to displacing objects, often displacing objects that looked similar to each other or had similar textural qualities as well. The original concept of holding an installation for these displacements also evolved where photography was used as a substitute medium. The photography was an important element because I still wanted to hoax a reaction from people when they viewed these images.
