Spacial// site specificity// installation// photography// book design
A miniature world is a brief that focused mainly on site specificity and book design. With a broad theme of site specificity, clarity and definition where defiantly needed at the beginning of this brief and after considerable experimentation in the first few weeks of this brief, I chose to focus on using miniature models to recreate everyday situations which I would then photograph using macro photography. I chose miniature models because of there diversity and the interesting images they created when installed in a space
The photography element of this brief was as equally important as the installation itself since these installations would eventually be presented in book format. I chose macro photography because of its precision and fine detail which perfectly captured the miniature models doing their 'everyday tasks' around my chosen installation sites.
The book to represent these photographs eventually came after the site specific installation phase of this brief, which forced be consider which images were valuable in representing my concept the best. from the hundreds of images I photographed, I narrowed this down to a select few which did present the concept of the installation.
